Why I want to meet Cynonymous
Because she’s a word goddess, and because she can think waaaay out of the box. :) And I don’t mind losing in a staring contest, if that’s what it takes! ;)
Because she’s a word goddess, and because she can think waaaay out of the box. :) And I don’t mind losing in a staring contest, if that’s what it takes! ;)
Because she has a good heart, so big she can’t hide it even if she wants to. Oh, and because she’s funny and friendly and genuine and nice and smart and all that :)
I waved “bye” to him down in Decatur, Georgia, after a satisfying teatime spent talking, talking with him and SaraSA at a local cafe. Faustus came across in person exactly as he does online – as a sweet, gentle, calm personality. Someone who thinks before he speaks. He is as thoughtful in real life as he is online!
If you’re ever in NYC Faustus, definitely drop me a line!
Whoa. Can’t believe I didn’t have you on my want to meet list. Hopefully by December our meeting fates, and running fates will be signed sealed and delivered… :)
If you’ve read her posts and you think she’s kind and sweet, wait to see her in person… [pause to build up suspense]... she’s that, and much more. She’s smart, friendly, witty, thoughtful, and knowledgeable, and she makes people feel comfortable and in peace around her.
I’m grateful she took some time out of her busy schedule to spend with us, and I would love to see her again.
He’s very modest, but he’s a great runner, even though he denies it. Very very very smart, an interesting person to spend time with, and a great roommate.
He didn’t even complain when I set my alarm for 3:50 am.
It was a privilege to meet him.
Because he’s cool, nice, positive, witty, and easy-going. And, because he wouldn’t mind if I tell everybody where he got his come-back-to-43T idea? ;)
It was nice to meet you in person, Jim. Any plans to run the ING Georgia marathon in March?
Well, it’s true that I enjoyed his solid states book as a textbook. It is also true that his “Space and Time in Special Relativity” is one of the best physics books I have ever seen (it’s, in fact, so straightforward that at the end I waswondering if I have been tricked :) I do recommend it, if you’re interested in the subject… very little background needed, if any).
BUT, the reason I admire him is the connection he makes between the abstract world and the real world, between science and art. For his latest work, take a look at this, or the complete article, What’s wrong with these stanzas, with bonus features in the July’07 issue of Physics Today.
I met her after the ING Georgia Marathon, at jeherv’s place. She seems like a kind, well-rounded, and nice person… and a serious marathoner :)
Vermont marathon is just around the corner, annamaria08, best of luck :)
Because he beat me in the ING half marathon! LOL! Things are great it’s fun, for me, to talk about.
